War of Genesis: Idle Loot Equipment Forge, not a hidden blacksmith
Combine same-grade piles, Dismantle junk, and keep Auto Register on so AFK loot does not freeze the overlay.
YouTube starter videos call this station the Blacksmith. The Steam client labels it Equipment Forge. Same room, two tabs: Combine and Dismantle. Commanders who skip it learn the hard way, because a full bag prints “Not enough bag space” and the overlay stops killing. This page is the synthesis loop for War of Genesis: Idle Loot, the Steam idle RPG whose Early Access began 10 September 2026. It is not a crafting tree from the 1990s War of Genesis SRPG, and it does not read your mobile Idle Heroes inventory.
If you have not finished the first-hour sequence, park this tab and run Getting Started. Overlay habits that keep Forge visits short live in How to Play.
Combine: same grade, next grade
The Combine tab states the rule without flavor text: “Combine items of the same grade to obtain an item of the next grade.” That is the entire recipe. You are not mixing a helm with a boot. You feed several items of one grade and receive one item of the next grade. Tiers run 1 through 6 across fourteen equipment slots, plus jewels, pets, wings, runes, and magitech gear as those drops appear.
Auto Register exists so you do not tap every white pile after a Tropical Rainforest clear. Turn it on, skim the selection, and only uncheck pieces you want to wear or list. Steam achievements track this grind on purpose: Combine ten times, then a thousand, then five thousand. Crafting a Tier 4 through synthesis is its own trophy; Tier 5 and Tier 6 synthesis trophies sit further up. Use those as a reminder that Forge is the intended sink, not a side minigame.
Weapons stay class-locked after Combine. A Swordsman still cannot use a Hunter Bow just because you fused it to a prettier tier. Filter by Swordsman, Archer, or Mage before you burn a stack you meant to sell. Class pages and the equipment tier list help you decide which fused result is worth a slot.
Dismantle: the other tab, not a failure
Dismantle is how you delete items the Combine pile does not want. Steam even jokes about it: “Useless? Dismantle It!” after ten salvages, then again at 1,000 and 5,000. Treat Dismantle as bag insurance. If a drop is the wrong class, the wrong slot, or a duplicate with worse rolls, salvage it instead of letting it occupy a row until AFK dies.
Do not dismantle a piece you might list. Market listings consume a Diamond and are currently one-way. A mediocre Tier 4 sword might still be worth more as a Steam Community Market post than as salvage dust. Cross-check Steam Marketplace when the item is Tier 4 or higher, a jewel, or anything a buyer might search by name.
Auto Register, bag space, and stalled AFK
Inventory fill is the silent boss. Stages dump gear while you work. If you never open Forge, the client eventually refuses new loot. Combat idle stops. You return to Ice Castle or Underground Prison and wonder why the hero is posing. Clear the bag, then resume. That loop is more important than chasing Apocalypse on day two.
A practical cadence: after each work block, Auto Register, Combine everything you are willing to upgrade, Dismantle the rest, equip any strict upgrade across the 14 slots, then go back to AFK farming or prep Raids and Arena if a timer is up. If you are pushing Ancient Ruins into Despair, you will visit Forge more often because drop volume climbs with difficulty.
Jewels, pets, wings, runes, magitech
Community companion tools report that six jewels of the same tier fuse into a higher tier, and that same-type is not required. Phrase that as community-reported, not as a hidden official tooltip, until the client spells it out as clearly as the Combine sentence. Those tools also expose seven jewel-tier checkboxes so you can protect high gems while auto-fusing junk. Use a companion if you want a planner; do not let a planner replace looking at the actual Forge tabs.
Pets, wings, runes, and magitech gear have their own Tier 4 through Tier 6 achievements. They still occupy bag space on the way there. Combine when the UI allows it; otherwise Dismantle or list. Relic shop purchases are a separate gold sink with their own trophies and are not a substitute for Forge.
Named characters such as Ice Pendragon and Jane Shore wear the same slot rules as your starter. Training Ground and Ability Unlock ranks SSS, SR, UR, and LR scale the body; Forge scales the board. Keep Forge visits frequent so the overlay still has bag room to breathe.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Equipment Forge the same as the Blacksmith?
YouTube says Blacksmith; the Steam UI says Equipment Forge. Overlay habits: How to Play.
What does Combine actually do?
Same-grade items become the next grade. First-hour context: Getting Started.
Should I fuse jewels the same way as gear?
Community tools report six same-tier jewels fuse. Confirm in-client; planners: companion tools.
When should I sell instead of Combine?
If it is class-wrong or a high tier, read Steam Marketplace before you spend a Diamond.
Why did farming stop after a long AFK?
"Not enough bag space" stalls combat. Clear Forge, then resume AFK farming.
