War of Genesis: Idle Loot List loot on the Steam Community Market
A Diamond posts the item. Retrieval is not available today. Steam fees still apply. Nobody owes you a profit.
The Steam store pitch is blunt: loot you farm on the desktop overlay can be traded on the Steam Community Market. That is the hook that separates War of Genesis: Idle Loot from a dozen other AFK RPGs. Steam Early Access began 10 September 2026. This page is the listing procedure, the Diamond tax, and the reasons a Commander should not treat the Market like a paycheck.
This is not the mobile Idle Heroes gem shop and not a player-run auction house from the 1990s SRPG. Listings go through Steam. Wallet funds, if any, follow Steam’s rules, not a private gold seller.
What the client actually says
Open the Marketplace window. You will see Steam Community Market and Steam Inventory tabs. The listing copy is the part people skip and then regret:
“Once listed, the item can be traded with other Commanders on the Steam Community Market.”
“Once listed, an item cannot be retrieved or deleted.”
Those two sentences are the whole risk model in Early Access. You pick List on Market, you spend a Diamond, and the piece leaves your bag for Steam’s Market. If you misclicked a worn weapon, it is gone from your 14-slot board. If you listed a jewel you meant to fuse, it is gone from Equipment Forge. Upcoming mailbox retrieval is rumored on the development roadmap. Do not invent a patch date for it. Until that ships, treat every listing as one-way.
Diamonds are the listing ticket
Listing consumes a Diamond. Players report roughly one Diamond every four hours from ordinary play. That rate is a community observation, not a contract. If you list four items in a sitting, you may have spent a day’s income of tickets. Paid Diamond pouches have appeared on the Community Market itself, which tells you how scarce the ticket feels in opening weeks.
Spend Diamonds on listings only when the expected Steam sale, after fees, is worth more than using the item. Combine first when the piece is a stepping stone to the next grade. The Equipment Forge guide is that decision’s other half. Dismantle trash. List the outliers.
Fees, prices, and the $2 sword
Steam Community Market charges fees on top of whatever asking price you type. The buyer sees a higher number than you receive. Idle Loot does not waive that. A creator sold a Tier 4 sword for a little over $2. Opening-week listings have also included jewels from under a dollar to a couple of dollars, the occasional accessory above $2, and outliers that sit unsold. None of that is a promise. Supply is climbing as more Commanders AFK through Ancient Ruins and Tropical Rainforest. Prices can fall while you wait.
Do not list Tier 1 junk. Nobody is hunting a white drop with a Diamond ticket. Look at comparable listings for the same tier, slot, and level band. Class-locked weapons split the buyer pool: a Hunter Bow is useless to a Swordsman. Name and class matter more than your emotional attachment to a drop Ice Pendragon happened to roll.
There is no guaranteed income. If a thumbnail promised “get paid to AFK,” close it. Read the Early Access review before you buy Diamond packs to scale a shop.
What is worth a Diamond today
Practical candidates in the opening economy: Tier 4 and higher weapons and armor with a searchable name, jewels (they move), and accessories that match a slot people actually fill. Pets, wings, runes, and magitech gear can list when the tier is high enough that achievements even celebrate owning one. If you cannot find a comparable sold listing, ask a smaller price or keep the item.
Bag space still comes first. A listed item leaves your inventory, which can unstick “Not enough bag space” the same way Dismantle does, but at a Diamond cost. If the goal is only to resume AFK, salvage is cheaper. Resume farming with the AFK farming plan after the bag breathes.
Account hygiene before you click List
Login bugs, unsigned executable warnings, and double-purchase reports showed up immediately. Do not list your only good weapon if you are still fighting the Steam Login button. Confirm the client is stable, skim launch issues, and make sure you are not about to relist the same item after a relog ghost. Family Sharing and Steam Inventory quirks are Valve’s layer; if a listing fails, the item may still be in Steam Inventory rather than the in-game bag.
Join an Alliance so you are not only a Market bot. Use Getting Started if you have not picked a class, and How to Play if the window covers your work. Market is a side output of idle hours, not the only reason to leave the hero running.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Can I cancel a listing and take the item back?
Not currently. Watch the roadmap for rumored mailbox retrieval without assuming a date.
Why did listing fail or feel expensive?
Listing spends a Diamond (about one every four hours, plus Steam fees). Errors: launch issues.
Will I make money AFK farming?
No. A Tier 4 sword sale around $2 is an anecdote. See the Early Access review.
Should I Combine before I list?
Often yes. Combine stepping-stones in Equipment Forge and list only searchable pieces.
Do mobile Idle Heroes items transfer here?
No shared saves, codes, or cross-play. Confirm on mobile versus Steam.
