War of Genesis: Idle Loot Farm stages without watching every pack

Pick a chapter the hero can clear, keep the bag empty enough to loot, and decide whether you want gold, upgrades, or Market bait.

AFK Farming

Farming is the heart of War of Genesis: Idle Loot. The store page says so, the overlay is built for it, and Steam Early Access began 10 September 2026 with that loop already playable. You park a Commander’s hero in the corner, pick a stage, and let weapons, armor, and jewels roll while you do something else. This page is the efficiency layer: which chapter to sit on, when to push, and how to stop inventory from deleting your overnight progress.

This is not a phone Idle Heroes stamina cycle and not a 1990s SRPG grind map. There is no shared save. If you need the install and class pick, use Getting Started. If you need window placement, use How to Play.

Chapters, difficulties, and the 4-2 habit

Stages include Ancient Ruins, Tropical Rainforest, Underground Prison, and Ice Castle. Difficulties include Normal, Despair, and Apocalypse. Steam’s 82 achievements even name the Apocalypse gates: Ruins 1-1, Rainforest 2-1, Prison 3-1, Ice Castle 4-1, plus three-minute clears of each. A common early screenshot is Normal 4-2. That is a fine sit node while your gear catches up.

Push when clears are fast and the hero is not drinking potions of your attention. Sit when a new difficulty turns into a wipe slideshow. Idle time on a stage you can finish produces loot. Idle time on a stage you cannot finish produces a frozen pose. Community companions advertise 400+ AFK stages; treat that as a long road, not a weekend checklist. Rank lists for pets and wings and equipment matter more once Normal stops dropping upgrades.

Apocalypse speedrun trophies are bragging rights, not a farming plan. Do not park overnight on a gate you cannot clear just because the achievement name is cool.

Push versus farm

Push when: the current node dies cleanly, bag space is healthy, and the next chapter’s level band matches your 14-slot board. Farm when: Combine is still eating the same grade, gold is the bottleneck for Training, or you want volume for jewels. Gold trophies climb from 1 million coins to 500 million. That curve is the game admitting you will sit in a chapter longer than the story names imply.

Class-locked weapons change the value of a node. If a Rainforest pack is dropping Hunter Bows and you are a Swordsman, you are filling a bag with Market bait or Dismantle fodder, not upgrades. Either list the bows (Diamond cost, one-way) via Steam Marketplace or salvage them in Equipment Forge. Sitting on the wrong class’s loot table is how AFK feels busy and your DPS stays flat.

Named characters such as Ice Pendragon and Jane Shore do not change the chapter list. They wear the same board. Training Ground and Ability Unlock ranks SSS, SR, UR, and LR are the menu half of farming: spend gold when you sit down, then return the overlay to a clearable node.

Bag management is drop rate

“Not enough bag space” is a full stop. Combat idle ends. You can lose hours because whites piled up during a meeting. Auto Register, Combine same-grade piles, Dismantle the rest, keep one Diamond in reserve if you insist on listing. Then go back to work. Forge visits are part of the farm, not a break from it.

Fourteen equipment slots on the character plus jewels, pets, wings, runes, and magitech gear means the bag is doing more jobs than “armor.” Protect high-tier jewels if community fusion (six same-tier jewels) is how you climb that track. Do not protect a tenth duplicate helm.

Gold versus loot versus Market

Gold buys Training, relics, and the feeling that numbers went up. Loot buys the board and the next Combine. Market listings buy Steam Wallet funds if a buyer appears after fees. Those three outputs compete for the same drop. A Commander who lists every green will starve Combine. A Commander who Combines every Tier 4 will never learn whether the Community Market wanted that sword. Pick a bias for the week.

Paid EXP, gold, and drop buffs exist as permanent cash-shop power. They are the center of pay-to-win complaints in Mixed opening reviews. You can farm F2P. You cannot pretend the shop does not tilt the same nodes. See the Early Access review.

Battlefield is a farm too. Alliance Raids, World Boss, and Arena participation dump ranking chests on a timer. Use Raids and Arena so those windows are not empty while you stare at Normal 4-2. Preset and jewel auto-combine quality-of-life is tracked on the roadmap. Until it lands, your hands are the auto-combine.

Leave the hero on a stage it can finish, with a bag it can fill, toward the resource you actually need next. Watching every pack is optional.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Should I always push the newest chapter?

No. Sit on a clean node such as Normal 4-2. Overlay habits: How to Play.

What do I do when the bag fills overnight?

AFK already stopped. Combine and Dismantle in Equipment Forge, then resume.

Is gold more important than gear?

You need both early. List only extras after Steam Marketplace.

Do raids replace stage farming?

No. Stages still mint most drops. Timers: Raids and Arena.

Which difficulties exist?

Normal, Despair, and Apocalypse across four chapters. Tracking: achievements.
